Writing content for the website or blog ? Well, this is a tall order for some and a piece of cake for others. So, if you are a webmaster, where do you fit in ?
As for me, I am somewhere in between. What do I mean ? OK, let me explain. I don’t profess to be a brilliant or gifted writer. Far from it, but I do get rare spurts of enthusiasm when I do try to write something of interest for my readers on my websites and blog.
I think we’ll leave the gifted writers alone in this post and talk about the less fortunate people like me struggling to create good content most of the time.
Unless, you are a wealthy retiree who can afford to laze around under palm trees on a beach all day, time is the major factor that will hinder your attempts at writing. If you are planning to deliver content, it should be of good quality and of value to your readers.
I don’t think we should ever put out mediocre articles just to get the job done as it would be the best incentive for your visitor to head for the back or exit button on your webpage.
Now, if you have decided that you don’t have the patience or time to research and write articles, your next best bet would be to obtain Private Label Articles or PLR as they are popularly called.
These are articles on various subjects that you can buy at reasonable rates from the net. You should never buy these blindly as you must first always check them out for quality, coherence, relevance and the standard of the language used.
I say this because, when something gets commercialized, quality tends to go down the drain most of the time. PLR is a license given by the author of the article to make changes as you wish and also to put your name as the owner of the article. Once you buy it, it’s yours. Unless otherwise restricted, you can do whatever you want with it. You can even sell Resell Rights/or Master Resell Rights.
PLR articles are usually available on the following terms.
- Single articles – on a single niche
- As a bundle – on several niches or the same niche
- PLR membership site – on different topics
Let’s examine these three options:
Single articles – The advantage of single articles is that you can choose articles which blend with the theme of your website.
As a bundle – If it is a niche bundle, you are in luck.
Membership site – The usual drawback is that you will receive every month, articles on several topics, most of which will not serve your purpose.
So it’s up to you to decide which you want to go for. You may also come across a lot of sites offering free PLR articles.
You should never put PLR articles as they are on your website or blog. You must always rewrite them, keeping the main theme intact. Since many other people would have bought the same articles to put them on their website or blog, there is the danger of search engines finding identical articles on various websites and branding them as duplicate content and you may even get penalized for it. In what way, I certainly don’t want to find out.
When you rewrite an article, there are good free programs available on the net for you to compare the difference between the original and re-written content.
